CONFIDENT LEADERSHIP

This eight part series will awaken a passion, a confidence and a spirit of growth within you inspiring an attitude of excellence. This comes from revealing an inner awareness of who you are and where you want and need to go.
Rock Valley College proudly presents an in-depth eight part program that focus on the skills needed to promote self-awareness, become a better decision maker, and define a path to your success. This course is facilitated by the dynamic and challenging duo of Leadership in Action.

KNOW YOURSELF - two sessions
Everything in your personal and professional life begins with you. Your responses and reactions to people and situations are your choice and you are the only part of every situation that you can control. This is a two-part session that includes a 360 assessment to help you recognize not just how you view yourself, but how others perceive you. Knowing yourself is the first step of self-development, self-improvement and a journey to a better you.
COMMUNICATION - two sessions
This two-part session defines communication. It gives you an in-depth understanding of communication beginning with the communication process through recognizing the styles of communication and how they affect that communication process. Communication is what helps us build relationships and it is also what deteriorates relationships by creating misunderstandings, mistakes and conflict. Learn to communicate effectively to enhance the relationships in your life.
CONFLICT RESOLUTION & ACCOUNTABILITY - one session
On average at least 25% of a leader's time is spent in conflict resolution in the workplace. Holding people accountable and resolving conflicts remain one of the biggest complaints that employees have of the people in their organizations. The biggest reason for not holding people accountable and resolving conflict is that uncomfortable feeling of not knowing quite how to handle the situation. Learning the various strategies of conflict resolution will eliminate that feeling of uneasiness and get you on the path of handling conflicts and situations as they arise, as well as holding people accountable for their actions.
TEAMBUILDING - one session
It's no secret that teams that work well together are more productive than individuals working apart. Learn how to build successful teams by knowing the strengths and weaknesses of the individuals involved, as well as fully communicating the goals and aspirations, so that you can build a team that far exceeds expectations.
MOTIVATION - one session
Motivation is what makes the difference between doing as little as you can get away with and doing everything you possibly can. Motivating is a daily challenge. We need to motivate ourselves. We need to motivate others. Learn the secret to motivation and spend less time pushing your employees and more time growing your team.
GOAL SETTING & ACTION PLANS - one session
Goals alone do not stimulate action. Action results from a carefully thought out plan that describes how a goal will be accomplished. Learn steps that will help you achieve your goals and understand your role in guiding your employees to fulfill their goals.
